Integra Faces a Steep Fourth-Quarter Gold Target at Florida Canyon
Florida Canyon produced 17,652 ounces of gold in the third quarter, 8% more than in the preceding quarter and 40% above the first quarter, Integra said in its October 22 operational update. The company nevertheless maintained its previously announced 2026 production guidance of 70,000 to 75,000 ounces. 1
That combination matters more than the sequential gain alone. Based on the company’s year-to-date position and retained target, Florida Canyon needs fourth-quarter output to rise by at least 32% from the third-quarter level to reach the bottom of annual guidance, according to The Northern Miner. 2 Reaching the top end requires a still larger step-up. The final quarter is therefore not simply a continuation of a positive operating trend; it must produce a substantially stronger result than the mine’s latest reported quarter.
Integra’s update points to operational momentum behind the production gains. Ore mined rose 21% quarter over quarter and ore placed on heap-leach pads increased 25%. Total tonnes mined increased 12%, while processed grade rose 9% and the strip ratio fell 16% from the second quarter. The company mined 5.3 million tonnes of ore and 3.6 million tonnes of waste during the quarter, for a strip ratio of 0.68. Average total material moved reached 97,428 tonnes a day, which Integra described as a record quarterly rate for the mine. 1
Those are constructive indicators for a heap-leach operation. Higher mining and stacking volumes can enlarge the inventory of ore being placed on pads, while a lower strip ratio can improve the balance between ore and waste movement. But they are not equivalent to recovered and poured gold. Gold production is the measure against which the annual target will be judged, and the company’s release does not provide a quantified bridge from higher tonnes and pad placement to the fourth-quarter ounces required for guidance.
The distinction is particularly important because leach operations can have a timing gap between ore placement and gold recovery. Improved mining and stacking rates may support future production, but the reported operational statistics alone do not establish how quickly the added material will translate into saleable gold. Integra reported gold sales of 16,760 ounces in the quarter, below production of 17,652 ounces, another reminder that operating throughput, output and sales are related but separate measures. 1
The company’s third-quarter update therefore sharpens the year-end question rather than resolving it. Florida Canyon has lifted output from the first quarter and delivered higher mining, ore and stacking rates through the year. Yet the retained 70,000-to-75,000-ounce guidance means the mine must convert that operational progress into a distinctly higher fourth-quarter gold result.
Integra plans to release third-quarter financial results after the market closes on November 11, followed by a management conference call on November 12. 1 Those disclosures may add detail on costs, cash generation and the operating outlook, but the immediate production marker is clear: a further modest sequential increase would not be enough. Florida Canyon needs a material quarterly step-up in recovered gold to secure even the low end of its 2026 target.
