ReSL launches Re Carma, a tech-enabled ELV recycling network with national capacity, VAHAN integration and EPR services to formalize vehicle recycling.
Re Sustainability Limited (ReSL) has launched Re Carma, an organized End-of-Life Vehicle (ELV) recycling network aimed at scaling formal vehicle recycling across India. The flagship facility in the Reliance Model Economic Township, Jhajjar (Delhi NCR), can process more than 30,000 vehicles per year. Through a growing franchise and partner network, Re Carma reports a national recycling capacity exceeding 200,000 metric tonnes annually. Facilities use automated dismantling and material recovery systems to separate ferrous and non-ferrous metals, plastics and recoverable rare earth elements. Operations are certified to ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards. Re Carma is authorized to issue Form-4 vehicle scrapping certificates digitally integrated with the VAHAN national vehicle database; each certificate includes photographic evidence of chassis destruction to ensure traceability and regulatory compliance. India faces a rising ELV challenge: more than 5 million vehicles are over 20 years old and the Central Pollution Control Board projects over 20 million vehicles will reach end-of-life by 2025. Improper disposal risks fuel and heavy metal contamination. ReSL serves as an exclusive Extended Producer Responsibility partner for several global OEMs, assisting with EPR credits and CPCB registration. Backed by KKR, ReSL operates across 100+ locations and employs over 25,000 people, positioning Re Carma as a scalable, compliant platform for circular mobility.
