Equinox Gold’s third-quarter production result offers the first reported view of the company after its combination with Orla Mining, but it is not yet a full-quarter measure of the enlarged portfolio. The company produced 237,019 ounces of gold in the three months ended September 30, with the figure including two months of attributable production from the acquired Musselwhite mine in Canada and Camino Rojo mine in Mexico. Equinox completed the transaction on July 31, so the new assets contributed only during August and September. 21

The distinction matters in reading a headline production number from a company whose operating base changed during the period. Equinox reported 248,484 ounces of gold sales in the quarter, slightly above production, and 611,483 ounces of consolidated production for the first nine months of 2026. Its third-quarter total reflects both the existing operations and a partial contribution from mines that were not part of the group for the first month of the quarter. 21

Equinox said it remains on track for its updated 2026 gold-production guidance of 870,000 to 920,000 ounces. It separately described full-year output as approximately 1.1 million ounces when Orla’s production contribution is included for all 12 months. Those are different scopes: the 870,000-to-920,000-ounce range is the company’s updated guidance, while the approximately 1.1 million-ounce figure illustrates production including a full year from Orla. The fourth quarter will therefore provide a more complete operational indication of the combined company, with the acquired assets included for the whole period rather than two months. 21

The transaction also changes Equinox’s geographic and strategic profile. The company characterized the combination as creating a senior North American gold producer with an enhanced Canadian footprint. Musselwhite is the Canadian addition specifically identified in the production release, while Camino Rojo extends the combined portfolio in Mexico. For investors assessing quarterly production trends, the key issue is not simply the higher consolidated total but how the portfolio performs once the acquired mines are present throughout a reporting period.

Alongside the production update, Equinox reported steps to reduce leverage. It repaid $190 million of debt during the third quarter, leaving $365 million drawn on its revolving credit facility at quarter-end. Year-to-date debt repayments were approximately $1.2 billion. The company also said that $172.5 million relating to its 2023 convertible notes would be redeemed on or before October 19. 21

At September 30, Equinox reported $527 million of cash, a net cash position of $163 million and total available liquidity of $1.2 billion. It also bought back 759,000 shares for about $9 million during the quarter under its normal course issuer bid. Through October 9, year-to-date repurchases totalled 1,697,600 shares for approximately $20.7 million, and management said it expected to continue opportunistic repurchases in the fourth quarter. 21

The company is also advancing South Railroad in Nevada, where it has received a Record of Decision and final federal permits and has begun early works construction. Equinox plans first gold from that project in 2028. For now, however, the immediate operational focus is the first full-quarter performance of the combined mine portfolio. The September-quarter result establishes the enlarged production base, while the next reporting period should show it without the timing limitation created by the July 31 closing. 21
